Sometimes these cuts are so much deeper then they seem You'd rather cover up, I'd rather let them be I am in misery There ain't nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah
April narrowed her eyes, giving a little hair flip to get her long, blonde hair out of her eyes. Work was getting to her and perhaps a nighttime stroll would do her good. Her icy blue eyes seemed to glow in the dark as she walked down the well kept walkway. She wore a beautiful red, silky soft top, boot cut jeans, gold hoop earrings and bracelets as well as a small golden feather necklace.
It had recently rained and the world tasted fresh to April's heightened senses. The night was growing old, it was past midnight at least, and April hadn't had a single drop of blood yet. Most vampires could go days without feeding, but April fed daily, it's what made her stronger than most vampires and let her keep her beautiful, thin body. She wished, that if she was not bound by the vires she would find some lone person out there to feed off of. Her mouth watered and she felt the similar sensation of her eyes turning blood red. She had to stop walking and she held her head like she had a headache. She gave a sigh and looked up, her eyes blue again. She had to control her furious apatite if she was to fight the pests of the world.
April spotted a wooden bench to sit down on that was relativity dry and approached it, sitting back and crossing her legs. She opened her purse and looked through it quickly, looking for something to entertain herself with.

Ryan walked out of the shadows of trees and into a small park. The moon and stars hung silently above him, and a nice breeze tousled his pale blonde hair. Though he had fed just last night, the desire came over him as human scents, lingering from the day, filled his nose. He tried to ignore tham as he strolled nonchalantly through the empty park. Ryan enjoyed some time to himself out in the open on nice nights such as these.
In the distance he saw a pale figure sitting alone on a bench, outlined by the moonlight. His footsteps faltered for a split second, for he had not expected anyone else to be around. He was about to turn around when he caught the girls scent on the breeze; It was strange. Ryan had never smelled anything like it, yet it seemed hauntingly familiar. He furrowed his eyebrows with concentration; Not only was he curious, but suspicious.
Ryan shrugged his shoulders and walked on down the path towards the girl, his head bent and his eyes focused towards the ground as if he had not yet noticed her. A human wouldn't have seen her yet, and he would hate to arouse suspicion. As he drew closer, Ryan looked in her direction. Her blonde curls were streaked with moonlight, and her eyes a pretty pale blue. "Good evening," he said, a charming smile in his voice, "What is a young lady such as yourself doing out alone at this hour?"

April heard him, of coarse, almost about the same him he noticed her. Her ears pricked and she had to force back a smile. Finally, some entertainment. The scent was very familiar to her, Vampire. She had lived with one for a good portion of her teen years and dealt with vampires daily in the prison and her co-workers were also vampires. She kept on digging through her purse, pushing over the garbage so her vires-issued revolver was hidden, but accessible. She didn't grab it, not yet. Best not scare anyone for no reason, besides, she could protect herself with her bare hands.
She let him walk up and 'notice' her. When he spoke she looked up quickly as if she was a little spooked. She looked at him with curious and semi-startled, innocent eyes. Anyone that knew April would probably burst out laughing, because April was anything but innocent. She opened her mouth a little to reply, turning back to her purse and giving a sigh of defeat "Well. I wish I knew. It's been an awful day." she sighed, shaking her head a little, "What about you? Shouldn't a charming young man like you be at a club or something?" she teased.

Ryan smiled lightly as she replied, teasing him, but he was carfefully analyzing her every move. There was something off about ths girl, and it aroused suspicion in him. "No, I would much rather take a stroll under the stars. So, what happened today that has you so crestfallen?" As he spoke, Ryan realized why her scent had been so familiar: She was just like him, a vampire. He raised an eyebrow inquiringly, "So, your a vampire as well? I suppose were not as rare as i had origanally thought."
Ryans eyes flitted to the girls registration tatoo, and he was thankful that his jacket was covering his own arm. He looked at her, searching for her intentions in her expressions. He didn't trust her, after all she had pretended to be startled by him. Unlikely. But then again, hadn't he also played human? He couldn't afford to risk it, and now that he knew she was not human he was beginning to regret drawing attention to himself, for he only had influence over human minds. He didn't let these thoughts show on his face though, he was an expert at maintaining composure.

Sometimes these are so much deeper then they seem You'd rather cover up, I'd rather let them be I am in misery There ain't nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah
April's eye twinkled mischievously for a moment her voice filled with the essence of laughter. "Ah, finally. For a second there I'd thought you'd never seen one of your own kind before.". She set down her purse beside her, facing away from the stranger. She looked him over, he was studying her, so she might as well study him. He seemed to not trust her, that was for the best, she supposed.
He looked at her registration tattoo and she looked to it in turn, giving a chuckle, "Yeah, they're pretty ugly, aren't they?" she she finished with shrug. That wasn't a lie, they were an eyesore on the skin and maybe if she had become a vampire on different circumstances perhaps she wouldn't have one at all. Her registration bound her to the human laws and working for the Vires gave her an easy life.
Right now, April's goal was to entertain herself. She was bored, her day had been horrible, she was supposed to be undercover at the local club but no supernaturals seemed to be about. It was only midnight but after five hours of squat she was fed up. She was hungry and bored, and an interesting conversation would do her good. Usually she'd just try and learn if he was a fugitive or not a leave but, well tonight the pickings were thin.
April thought he looked a little tense, and she wasn't blaming him. A strange vampire in practically the middle of no where? "Relax, Sit down." she said, rolling her eyes a little bit, "I'd don't bite... Vampires..." she gave a little chuckle. Vampire blood wasn't the same as human, and she could have human at home without getting in a whole lot of trouble.

"Yeah there pretty ugly, aren't they?" She said, referring to her registration tatoo. Ryan nodded, "Oh, i know, they are such a pain, but it doesn't look half bad on a girl as pretty as you" He said lightly, easily covering his discontent with the subject. He wondered for a moment how she would react if she found that he was unregistered. It was difficult to tell.
He shrugged and sat down on the bench next to her, grinning slightly at her comment about not biting vampires. He looked over her again, trying to figure her out. She didn't seem to be an immediate threat, and he was fairly bored, so company was welcome. He relaxed slightly, "I'm Ryan by the way" he said, deciding it would be okay to give her his real name. After all, it wasn't like he was wanted, he even did occasional jobs for human vires; With humans it was rather easy to keep situations under control.
He tilted his head back and gazed up at the moon. Ryan liked the moon, it was one of the only things that never changed, even in his human years it had been the same. He pushed the thoughts out of his head and returned his focus to the girl beside him, cursing himself for letting his gaurd down even a little bit.

April looked him over when he said his name, she nodded "Nice to meet you, Ryan. I'm April." She gave him a little awkward smile she found was true-not fake like most of her smiles. Actually, she rarely even had a true emotion other than annoyance or anger. In her line of work it was very important to set aside emotions and stay like a stone.
She looked out into the forest, her mind lost for only a moment as she gazed into it's luring depths. It seemed to call to her-the darkness, it took her several moments to break from the locking stare before she looked away to the man beside her. He was looking up at the moon and looked back to her.
April searched his face for emotion, it seemed pretty black except perhaps a tad bit of annoyance. "So, Why are you out here tonight, Ryan?" she asked, her controlled appearance swallowing her up once more. "I mean, did you really just feel like a mid-night stroll or is there something on your mind?" she didn't really care, but it was a conversation starter and 5 minutes of awkward silence wasn't what she felt like at the moment.

Ryan met her blue eyes as she smiled at him and introduced herself as April. What an interesting name. He suddenly found himself allowing hints of emotion into his expressions, and not just fake or expected emotions, but small glimpses of his true feelings. Ryan rarely found himself being around someone just for the company, and it was an odd but welcome scenerio for him.
"No, I just wanted to take a late night stroll, get a change of scenery. What about you?" he asked, grateful that there had been noakward silene to endure so far. April had said earlier that she had had a rough day, perhaps she would feel better if she talked to him about it.
Maybe she would feel better if she talked to him about it? "Wow, I actually want to make her day better" he thought to himself incredulously. Was it just because she was one of the few vampires he had met in his life, or was it that he had actually stumbled upon someone he could tolerate?

April sighed, giving a shrug. "Well, Let's just say my day, er night, hasn't been entirely successful and I decided to take a little walk." she looked away and gave a shrug. "The cool nights around here help me remember the good ole days..." Again, she found a true, real emotion sneak back out of her. She thought in the back of her mind she should push it down but she just... couldn't. She remembered when she had been newly turned, recently registered by the vires and running around at will. That was when she had real emotions. When she still had hope, a future, she knew her destiny. Her foolish heart. She remembered what emotions had done to her.
She felt the cold, frozen version of her take over once more and she sighed, "I'm just being melodramatic." she said with a little smile, "You know, us females." she said lightly. She looked back to him, thinking for a moment, "So, What do you do? For a living I mean?" she asked, looking at him with a mild curiosity on her face.
There was no way in heaven or earth she was giving away what she did. No one liked the vires much; especially supernaturals. They were depicted as cruel and heartless-which may be true for her. But, in truth, most of the vires thought they were doing their best for mankind, even the supernaturals who still believed they and... them could get along. She was no fool, or hopeless dreamer. She knew humans and supernaturals were going to have a war, and well, perhaps it's be better to be on the winning side.

"Oh, i'm sorry about your night" He replied, but he couldn't help but smile slightly, "Maybe we can still salvage it. And yeah, the cool nights in Oregon are quite something". Ryan thought back to 'the good ol'e days', when he had tried so desperately to salvage the good person he once had been. He looked to his feet, his mood sobering, as he though of his wife. When she had died, so had any part of the human Ryan Kelly that had survived. He tried to lock the overwhelming emotions away.
He noticed a change in April as she sighed and said she was simply being melodramatic. He frowned slightly, he could tell the difference between April, andthe mask April put on. Was this how people saw him? Yes, but was that a good or bad thing.
When April asked about his job, his mind sharpened, and he noticed that he wasn't the only one who had felt aprehension about the topic. Perhaps he had imagined it, or perhaps he wasn't the only one with something to hide. He shrugged casually, "Oh, I'm a substitute teacher for the school district, nothing too exciting." He said in an ernest tone highlighted with humbleness, using his usual story. Ryan suspected that this had been his profession as a human, but time had faded that detail, along with many others. "What about you? " he inquired, mirroring her mild curiousity.

April was a little surprised he was a substitute teacher. It's not like many human parents would let their children near supernaturals, let alone a vampire, let along be taught by a vampire. Supernaturals were barely allowed to walk the streets Plus, human schools ran in the day, with windows and light and... light... A night school perhaps? She doubted the market on night school substitutions was rich in this town, and she knew that the academy wan't with the local school board because she had to do tons of paperwork for it on Fridays. Whatever, she placed it like participation ribbon in the back of her mind carelessly and focused on how she was going to cover up for her own... career.
"Well, you know, between jobs. If you think the job market is bad for humans, it's even worse for us supernaturals." she gave a rather authentic sigh and shrug combo, leaning back on the bench. "I'm not sure I want to talk about it..." she looked away, God, I should be an actress or something, That's it! she thought, "I've been trying to get into a play or something at the theater but..." she said wistfully, trailing off once more.
April had actually always wanted to be an actress, but she had never gotten the chance. Apparently she had gotten pretty good at it over the past couple years, and she had never actually tried acting too much past school. She wondered if she's enjoy it....

Ryan expected her to question him further. Schools? Like with light and humans? And he was ready to respond, Yeah, it's kind of hard to beleive they let me teach. I had worked my whole human life for the district, and when i turned, they had to fire me as an official teacher, but they let me sub at night schools, sort of as a retirement thing. But she didn't. Instead she answered his question. Perhaps there was truly no reason to be suspicious. If she were looking to turn him in, would she not have pushed for further explanations.
Ryan listened as she told him about the tough job market and that she had been looking into plays and such. He could see her as an actress. She was pretty, clever, charming, and now that she mentioned it, acting wasn't a bad career for a vampire. "Oh, an actress. Thats quite an exciting path," He wanted to ask if she was having much luck, but from her tone it didn't sound like it, and Ryan would hate to bring up a depressing subject. "You seem like you would be rather good at it." he added intead.
A cold breeze whistled through the trees, and it put Ryan in an even better mood; He loved the cold. With such nice weather and such a beautiful night, he thought it would be a shame to waste it sitting on a bench. He looked to April, "Do you want to go for walk?" he asked, hoping she would except. He rather enjoyed her company.

April smiled, feeling genuinely flattered and relieved, "Thanks." she said softly. She rather liked him, he seemed... different. Something about their similarities brought out emotions, she couldn't even remember the last time she'd been flattered. To her all these months was earning respect, bringing fear and hiding weaknesses. It felt... different to be actually feeling something and not needing to cover it up.
When asked if she wanted to walk she nodded, "Alright." she picked up her purse beside her. And put it around her shoulder and under her arm. She rose to her feet and looked down each way, straining to hear or smell anyone walking by. She didn't want a random human walking by with their dog or anything, she was hungry enough without having to smell it. Nothing seemed to pop up so she breath a sigh small sigh of relief and turned to him, "Which way would you like to go?"

Ryan smiled when she accepted his invitation to go for a walk, and he stood first and offered his hand to help her up. When she asked which way he wanted to go, he smiled slightly and replied, "You chose, Ladies first".
April looked beautiful in the moonlight, Ryan thought. The light seemed to glisten in her hair and the stars seemed to reflect in her eyes like water. As another chilly breeze whistled past them, he wondered if April was cold. Did vampires get cold? He never did, but sadly he didn't have much expirience with his own kind. He shook his head, it seemed that Ryan really did like her. It was a strange feeling, but quite a welcome change from his usual manipulative and composed personality.
As they walked, he contemplated what topic would make a nice conversation, but suprisingly he was content just walking beside her. The quiet between them wasn't akward, which really took the strain off of the conversation.
Ryan couldn't smell any humans near, which was good. He didn't need the temptation. He wondered what would happen if a human was around. Under normal circumstances, if they smelled good enough it was thier funeral, but Ryan decided quickly that he wouldn't leave April to go hunting. He had found that when it came to things like that, making decisions before hand was the best way to be sure you react desirably.

April looked either way, thinking for a moment, "Lets go that way." she said, pointing to the direction she had been going before she stopped that lead further into the park. She walked beside him in silence, soaking in the moment and her hard shell once again began to ebb. She admired the trees and the dappled colours of moonlight on the ground.
Through the silence April began to hear in the surrounding treeline, squirrels were sleeping peacefully in the trees, owls hooted and searched for prey while a raccoon quickly clawed it's way up a tree. The smell of animals and blood pumping made her throat feel dry and her mouth began to water. She easily concealed this though because her shell was peeling off her she had a hard time controlling the discomfort appear in her eyes. She pushed it from her mind like pushing away chocolate cake at a birthday. Reluctantly with some inner pain to her spirit.
She decided to focus on the charming "young" vampire walking beside her, giving him a little smile. "So how many years has it been for you? You can't really tell by looks with us." she asked, she was mildly curious. For a vampire she was very young, only four years as a vampire, right when the vires was created. She remembered the day as clearly as it had happened only moments ago, but she wondered if an older vampire would remember it so clearly...
