Annalie wandered along the edge of the water, silently listening to the sounds of the waves as they washed up onto the sand. She was barefoot with her jeans rolled up to mid-calf, ignoring how cold the water and the breeze were. Honestly, it was refreshing to feel the coolness of the ocean and taste the salt in the air. The atmosphere made her feel alive and more energized than she had in a long time. Just being anywhere near water made her feel better.
It was early morning, so the only people Annalie was passing were those few brave joggers who dared to wander out in the cold dawn and the odd old couple walking their dogs. Her own mutt had wandered off the night before, but Annalie wasn't too worried. The thing always came back to her, even when she was trying to lose it. It was the most mangy thing she had ever seen in her life, and no matter how many baths she gave it, the dog just never looked any better. She couldn't help but appreciate the company however, and she especially loved that nothing had to be said between her and her dog to keep that company. The last person she had been close enough to be talkative with was her little brother and that... well she didn't want to think about that at the moment.
Abruptly she turned and waded into the water, ignoring the fact that she was fully dressed. She could get rid of the water as soon as she wanted with just a flick of the wrist, so as her oversized sweatshirt began to absorb the water like a paper towel, Annalie decided to duck her entire head under and go all the way with this impromptu swim. Once under the surface of the water, she remained for a few moments, just savoring the power she felt before resurfacing and wading back onto shore. Once back on the sand she just sat with her feet close enough to be touched by the waves. She could have remained there, soaked and everything for the rest of the day, but she figured she would look strange if she was sopping wet. She stood up and glanced around, and when she was satisfied that she was alone, she pulled all the water out of her clothing, hair, and off of her skin and formed a little sphere with it. After letting the ball of water sit in her hands for a moment, she took the water and tossed it, as one would throw a dodge ball, out into the ocean.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex was taking a nice stroll on the beach, a mischevious glimor in her eyes, when she caught sight of a girl a little way in the distance. The girl looked a few years older than herself, but just as gullible as the rest of them. She ducked behind a boulder, her feet cold in the icy ocean water, and watched as the girl coaxed the water off of her body and into a sphere as if it was a living thing. A water elemental.
Alex's mind raced, determining in what way it would be best to mess with her. She decided on the simplest of tricks, and examined the girl carefully. She focused on the stranger down the beach from her, willing her image to shift. She felt took a piece of her hair between her fingers and watched it turn a deep brown. She knew her eyes were now also an earhty brown. The only difference now between her and the water manipulator down the shore was that her clothing was a pair of sweats and a matching hoodie.
Alex threw her hood over the hair that wasn't quite hers and began to jog down the beach towards her likeness. She couldn't wait to see the girls reaction when she saw herself jog by. She hummed loudly as she passes the girl, and at last minute she met her brown eyes, then looked nonchalantly away and continued until she was out of the poor girls line of sight. Annalie hadn't moved from where she stood looking out over the water, even when she heard footsteps coming closer on the sand. From the sound of it, whoever it was was jogging and humming overly loud. Annalie turned and looked at the girl and noticed something was very familiar about her. It wasn't until she was almost right next to her that she realized that the girl looked identical to herself. That is, other than the clothing. It took her a moment to regain her equilibrium as the strangeness of the moment overtook her, but when she realized that the girl, or guy since Annalie concluded that the person was a changer, had probably seen her pull the water off of herself to be so blatant about revealing their own power, she knew she had to stop them. They could be loyal to the Vires, and considering Annalie herself was not registered, she wanted nothing to do with them.
Thinking quickly, Annalie sent an oncoming wave up onto the beach higher than it would normally go. The changer was pretty far away, but by using the water as a guide, Annalie found them quickly and sent the water to form a little prison around their ankles so they shouldn't be able to move. After that was accomplished, she took off down the beach so the two of them could have a little chat, and if need be, somehow get rid of this new "friend."
As she approached the changer, Annalie pulled up to a walk. Usually, she wasn't very confrontational, but when it came to her own safety, she was no fool. Deciding to take the intimidation route, she summoned water to run up her arms and onto her hands to form little gloves that could be used for whatever she needed them to do. From her years of running, she was not breathing heavily at all, so she seemed calm and collected on the outside, even when she was freaking out on the inside.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Annalie asked after studying the changer for a moment.

It was too early to be up. Really. Dawn was a ridiculous time to be awake at, with the sun barely over the horizon. But honestly, it was the only time Caitlyn could have her privacy without some hormonal teenage human boy gawking at her. Sure, they wouldn't be looking if she didn't dress the way she did, but she wanted all eyes on her. Just not all the time. Besides, it wouldn't be worth changing her clothes every time she wanted to be alone. And when the obnoxious humming started, she wasn't happy. A good deal farther away than her, Cait could still see some of her more obvious features, which were identical to another girl's that she hadn't noticed at first. One of them had to be a Changer at work. She wondered how the situation would unfold when she got her answer—in a wave. Water was doing things that water shouldn't do. It was soon obvious that one of them was a water elemental, most likely the one with gravity-defying liquid clinging to her hands. The girl walked in such a way that it offended Caitlyn, for self confidence in others was not an attribute she liked to see. She couldn't pick on those types of people—they just went and assured themselves that they were "special" and "unique" and all that junk. Not to mention she absolutely hated it when unimposing people tried to initimidate anyone. It was just another sign that they really didn't get what they were doing. Noticing a large amount of water gathering around to ensnare one of them, she could deduce that that was indeed the Changer. After the one that was clearly the elemental spoke, Caitlyn debated on intervening. She could easily put the elemental in her place, freezing any water that she bothered to move. But then again, she wanted to see what would happen to the Changer. If Cait was lucky, maybe they would get killed.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex thought she was home free when suddenly she felt something lock around her anckles. "What the-" she started, but was cut off when she realized what had happen. Alex slowly modified her features. She madeher nose longer, her eyes more almond shaped, and her hair a few shades lighter. She made herself into someone that looked enough like the water elemental to perhaps be related, but not to be suspicious. She decided it best to play innocent. After all, this girl could be a vire.
Turning towards the girl, Alex put on her most frightened and innocent expression. "I.. I'm Lexi. I was just going for a walk." her voice shook with fright. As if, but she wanted this to seem to be the strangers mistake. Embarassing her almost as a punishment for being smart enough to relize what was going on. "Am I in trouble?" she added, her eyes widening.
Alex wondered if the girl would fall for this 'mistaken identity' gimmick, after all, it really depended on how much confidence she had in herself and what she has seen. Sure, the girl look rather sure of herself now, what with the water flowing up her arms and the menace in her eyes, but how would she react if she thought she had terrified an innocent jogger? Would she be guilty enough not to push it any further, or would she see right through it and be angrier. Alex wasn't worried either way. She could take care of herself just fine.

There was no way in hell that Annalie had made a mistake in what she saw. She would have never gone after someone like she was doing now if she wasn't more than sure that she was right, but as this girl made these little frightened faces and looked up at her with eyes, now not totally like Annalie's but still similar, she couldn't help but falter for a moment. That moment was ruined when the girl began to talk. Her voice was convincing, but there was something there, an inner confidence that made the entire facade just that: a facade.
Annalie walked up slowly, almost cautiously, and took a strand of the changer's hair between her water bound fingers. It of course didn't change on contact with the water, but the action gave Annalie an idea. "I wonder," she mused aloud, "if enough water makes changers turn back to their original form." She smiled at this, cocking her head slightly to the side in an inquisitive fashion. "I guess we can always find out," she said, the water that was swirling around her hands suddenly starting to reach out towards the other girl's face. It touched the base of the changer's throat, and very slowly made a trail up towards her chin and mouth. "Of course, you could just tell me what you are really doing here and I could let you go," Annalie said, her face serious again, "and we could talk like civilized beings."
It was an honest suggestion, and one she was very willing to go for. No matter how much she hated the Vires and how humans looked down upon supernaturals as lesser than them, Annalie wasn't much for using her own abilities for harming others. She would and could when necessary, but in this case she was not so sure she had to. If this girl was running around showing off her powers, it wasn't very likely she was with the Vires, but one could never be too sure, and until Annalie had a chance to make that a reality, she knew she had to be very, very careful.

Caitlyn smirked when she saw Alex try and feign innocence, morphing herself on the fly. It was a good trick, it really was, and Cait gave her credit for that. But any experienced supernatural that knew of Changers would have their suspicions, especially when they just witnessed a carbon copy of themselves jog by them. She wasn't very impressed when the water elemental could determine that the now similar looking Changer was indeed a supernatural. "And I wonder," Caitlyn said as she approached Annalie at the exact speed she'd moved towards Alex, "how long a water elemental can survive sub zero temperatures." When Annalie began to make threatening gestures towards Alex with her watery extensions, she nearly laughed right there. "You look like a nice girl. I don't think you'd hurt someone for having a little fun, now would you?" The extra emphasis on the word "fun" was not to tell her that she'd witnessed Alex just playing a practical joke, but to create her own inside joke in that her idea of fun was something that Cait herself would get hurt for. Though Annalie looked to be merely trying to intimidate, Cait couldn't help but notice that she was being rather... Careful. Cautious. Her thoughts wandered for a split second, trying to identify a valid reason that she would be acting that way. Was she scared of a Changer? They couldn't do much rather than, well, change. Perhaps she was unregistered? Her arm was covered, so there was no way of telling. She pushed the idea to the back of her mind, focusing on the elemental once more.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . For a brief moment, Alex thought that water elemental had fallen for it. She saw the doubt flash in the other girls eyes, but it only lasted a few moments. Suddenly the girl grabbed a strand of her hair, and instead of following her instincts and retaliating, she flinched away as if she was oh so frightened. It didn't work. The girls eyes narrowed and she stepped towards her cautiously yet as if trying to look threatening.
Despite the girls talk, she seemed nice at heart, so Alex was taken aback when suddenly water began to make its way up her throat and towards her mouth. Was this girl really intending to smother her in water?! Alex's eyes hardened, and she leafed through all of the menacing things she could turn into. She was just about to threaten the water elemntal when a voice chimed in behind her.
Alex turned to the girl who had spoken on her behalf, and was extremely contridicted. She wanted to like this new character for defending her, at least she knew a joke when she saw one, but she was also the kind of girl that Alex couldn't stand. She stood there, with an icy confidence, wearing a riduculously small outfit. There was a word Alex had for girls like that. She decided not to form any opinions toward her at the moment.
Alex turned her glare back towards her captor, and allowed herself to return to her usual form. She was taller and in all more threatening that way anyway. Her long dark curls returned, as well as her stormy gray eyes. She scowled up at the girl, "Yeah. Honestly, someone can't take a joke. Who just drowns people as a first resort?!" she asked, growing angrier as she spoke. Would it kill her to ask nicely first? After all, most people responded to kindness better than being captured and threatened!

The thing was, at this point in her life, Annalie wasn't really surprised by much, so when another girl appeared who was obviously not taken aback by what was going on, she figured another suupernatural had joined them. The new girl was confident, overly so, and it bothered Annalie right off the bat. Not to mention her clear lack of clothes on this cold morning. Being a water elemental meant that she herself had a lower body temperature and could handle cold weather far better than most people and supernaturals, but even she had her limits. Not that she would let that show, especially when that exact thing was brought into question.
"I can handle the cold pretty well, " she retorted, her voice losing its edge as she realized that neither of these girls seemed to be too much of a threat to her. She turned to her captive who was now back to what she assumed was her regular form, and also answered her question. "A person who has lost everything uses drowning other people as a first resort," she said, now back to her normal quiet and smooth voice, "especially when you are new to an area and don't know where the loyalties stand." With this comment she sent a pointed look at the other girl, who she now surmised was probably an ice elemental. "You can never be too careful, and I'm done taking chances."
With that, she pulled back the water that was on and capturing the changer, and took a step away. Annalie really was not one for being overly violent, but her sense of humor had greatly decreased sense losing her family. That was something that usually dampened a person's spirits, and being here, where the Vires thrived was not helping her paranoia. "But, just to clarify, you never answered my question about who you are," she mentioned. "I really don't like hurting people, but I do what I have to do to keep myself alive and well." That wasn't an entirely true statement because she would sacrifice herself for a true friend, but in this case it stood. If her ticket between staying alive and well and being registered and potentially harmed and killed by the Vires was killing this one little changer, she would do what she needed to do. Even with little miss Ice Princess over to the side, who she guesses wasn't registered either, she would make it out of here in one piece.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . As the water elemental explained herself, Alex loosened up a bit. She was resonable after all, and not a mean person when it came down to it. Though Alex's family was still intact, she understood how this girl felt. She was having to make the best of a bad situation, so Alex decided to cut her some slack and let her anger ebb.
When Alex felt the water retract from her ankles and saw the girl step away, she took a final calming breath. "Much better," she said, and she listened as the girl 'clarified' and asked again for her name. "Im' Alex," she responded, a hint of a smile on her features. This girl didn't seem to be mean at heart, just very distrusting, and Alex didn't want to fight over misunderstandings tonight. "And I had no intentions of harming you, I was just trying to have a little fun."
