Ash walked out to the sports field and made sure he was alone. He didn't want to meet one of those jackass football guys. He smiled as he thught of that. Ash was one of those jock-type guys. He shook out his wings and spread them. The twelve feet of dark golden feathers was very breathtaking, out of awe and suprise. Ash gave an experimental surge down to make sure every fether was in order. If one was bent it would mess up his flying. The whoosh of air at the tip of his left wing sounded funny. He brought the tip of it closer to his face and saw that one feather on the very outer edge was all ragged. He started to smooth it out and put the microscopic hooks on the edge of each strand of feather back together. He finished his work in a few moments. He looked up towards the sky andlifted his wings upwards and plunged them down with all of his strength.
He usually took off from a vantage point so his assent was slow at first. By his third wing beat he was well above the field. He laugh out of the joy of being in the air. He soared up to the point that he would look like a small weirdly shaped hawk in the air. He started to circle and dive. He felt a presense in his head and turned to see a little mourning dove flitting past. He didn't know they went up as high as he was. He smiled and continued to circle above the grounds.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex was sitting out in the courtyard in the soft green grass, enjoying the nice weather, when someone caught her eye. A boy, walking alone out onto the sports field. She had never seen him before, and she wondered what he was doing out there alone. Her question was answere when he unfolded his dark golden wings. A siren!
Alex watched in awe as he proppeled himself from the ground with one giant down beat of his magnificent wings. As he asscended higher, becoming only a golden speck against the blue sky, she felt a pang of jelousy. Alex wanted to fly too. To circle above the world and feel free, riding the breeze. Suddenlt it occured to her. Why couldn't she?
Carefully, Alex pictured the boys wings in her minds eye, and willed a pair of her own to form. She also felt her bones lighten, and she unfurled the golden wings that were now hers. She looked to the Siren in above her, and feeling bad about copying his own wings so exact, she willed the color to change to a white creamy color with flits of grey.
Her heart beat wildly as she prepared to take off. She had never flown before. What if she crashed from such height?! As she looked up at the golden winged boy, carefree above her, Alex's doubts disapeared. She mimicked his exact take off.
It all happened in a blur, but after a shaky and amature takeoff she was flying. She was actually flying. A giggle of pleasure escaped her lips as she soared higher, until she had matched the height of the stranger. She wanted to be able to see him so that she could learn from his movements, for he had much more experience than her. . . . Ash turned his head and saw a winged girl soaring up to meet him. He was the only siren at the school as far as he knew. He tuckd in his right wing and flapped his other shooting to the right. He was now facing the girl, he threw out both wings wide and stood straight up on the air. He started to beat his wings straight down to hover.
He called out to be heard over the beating of both their wings "Hello, I'm Ash. Are you new here?" He gave the girl a smile. He wanted to find out if she was a siren or some changer that mimicked him. It had happened once before and he only found out because the guy hadn't changed the wings color to be different from his own, and his face was exactly like Ash's.
She looked like a fledgling bird that flies for the first time. He wondered if she hadn't flown at all before if she was in fact a siren. He hoped with a lot of his heart that she was a siren, he didn't ant to get pissed on such a fine day. If he got pissed it would ruin flying for the rest of the day.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex watched as the boy turned and seemed to stand in mid-air in front of her. She smiled, he eyes twinkling, as he spoke to her. She tried to mimick his stance and 'stand' in front of him as he did her, "Not really," she said, hedging, "But I am only a sophmore, thats probably why i have never seen you around." she explained smiling, "I'm Alex, by the way" she added affably.
Even though Alex didn't weigh more than she origanally had, due to her now hollow bones, she could feel her energy slowly waning. Perhaps it was because of all the energy and effort it took to fly, but it was so worth it. She returned her attention to the siren in front of her. She could tell that he was hoping that Alex was a fellow siren, and Alex was torn as to what to tell him. Would it be best to lie, and let him have his fun now, but be twice as angry later, or ruin his flight for him. She decided just to hedge, not to lie, but not to tell the whole truth either.
"So how long have you been at Tolero?" she asked. Alex could tell that he had at least a year on her, and she was mildly curious to know what wings of the school to avoid if this ended badly. She smiled at the boy again, in a rare good mood today.

Caitlyn had been wandering the grounds of the academy for a short while now, attracting the attention of many hormonal teenagers in the process. She quite enjoyed the attention, but she required something a bit more sinister to keep her satisfied. Parting her mouth, she let her tongue dart out momentarily to slide across the glossy surface of her lips.
The amount of skin she had showing would've made any girl that didn't hold as high of an opinion of herself most likely squirm. An aura of confidence radiated from Caitlyn, and the way she held herself made obvious the fact that she was in no way insecure. The lacy dress she wore was a pale shade of alice blue, cutting off between her hips and mid-thigh. A flicker of movement in her peripheral version caught her attention: two figures in the sky. They looked to be two Sirens. Caitlyn hated other supernaturals--actually, she hated everyone. But Sirens in particular were creatures she couldn't stand. They thought so highly of themselves only because they had wings, and Caitlyn didn't appreciate others with the same level of backbone she had. She thought it could've been amusing to watch if she'd went to throw up a wall of ice or two, having them fly right into it, but then decided against it. Her range of power probably didn't extend that high. She could survive a bit longer without making someone miserable--Caitlyn had found a naive little faerie to pick on earlier today. She watched in mild disgust as they engaged in conversation, thinking them so smug with their pretty little feathers. Cait found the airborne girl a little bit pathetic, looking as if she were a child on Christmas day, just because she was flying. A smirk spread across her lips as she watched the pair, immaculate fingernails digging into her palms. At least one of them was going to bed unhaopy tonight.

Ash smiled and said It's very nice to meet you Alex. She looked a bit inexperienced. He wondered why, if she was a siren then she should have been taught how to fly when her first set of feathers came in. He was a good flyer, but some lady sirens he met were far more aerodynamic in the air then him.
When she asked him how long he had been at Tolero he answered easily Two years. I'm sorry if I seem rude, but are you a siren? Or a changer? He wouldn't get mad at her if she was a changer. He would probably get a bit annoyed but not all out mad like he would if she was a guy.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . As she listened to him speak, she felt odd, as if her bones were becoming hevier, her strength wavering. She had never changed into a siren before, so perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to be trying an unfamiliar change so high up. Alex scolded herself and pushed the thoughts away. She was having fun, and she didn't want to end her flight because she had began doubting herself. She would be fine. Alex smiled, shifting her focus to the boy as he asked if she was a siren or a changer. It wasn't a suprise that he asked, she flew very poorly. She blushed and tried quickly to decide weather or not to lie, "Oh, you noticed huh? I'm a very poor flyer after all. I'm-" Suddenly she felt her wings disapear and the air rush upward past her. Something had gone terribly wrong, and now was free falling! She willed her wings to reform, trying to focus through her panic. She could feel her grey flecked wings returning, but the ground was aproaching her fast...

Ash saw the girl suddenly lose her wings and fall. He snapped in his wings and fell faster than her due to his heavier weight. He was below her when he plunged his wings outward and held out his arms to catch the girl in midair. He looked at her and said You okay? Maybe we shouldn't fly anymore. Ash smild to show he wasn't angry at her. Fear was in his eyes though. She had almost fallen and died, that bothered Ash a lot more than if Alex was a normall girl that got a heart attack or something. He started to drift slowly to the ground. He didn't go as fast as he would normally. Normally he would dive down ,at close to a hundred miles an hour, and pull out of it at the last second.

"Oh dear, a little bird falling to her death. What a shame." Caitlyn's words were directed to no one, as no one was in earshot. She found some strange pleasure in watching the girl plummet towards the ground. Maybe it was the girl's desperate attempts to stay airborne—or maybe it was the way that she was trying to deny that her life was about to be over. It was, personally, an enjoyable experience to Cait, and one that she'd wish she'd be able to watch more often. She knew that she had all the power in the world to save her, but the question was, did she want to? Not really. As the girl neared closer and closer to the ground, the excitement building inside of her grew. Cait knew that it wasn't long before she smashed into the ground, her bones snapping apart in terrible unison. Eagerly, she watched, waiting for just that moment— And she wasn't dead. No, the stupid bird boy had to play hero of the day. "Ruining my fun," Cait said once again in no one in particular. She sighed, debating on whether or not to remain and play around a bit longer, possibly with her powers, or to just leave. She decided to amuse herself just a little more, before she retired to her dorm for the rest of the day. Despite the cool winter air, Caitlyn wasn't chilled in even the slightest, even with her revealing clothing. She still looked on at the pair in contempt, though to any other, she looked simply curious. "Have your fun now, I'll have mine later," she spoke under her breath.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex knew the ground was coming, and she braced herslef for it. She couldn't even think straight enough to be frightened, she just shut her eyes tight and waited. Suddenly she felt warm arms around her, and she felt all the pressure of gravitys embrase release her. She looked up at the boy who had saved her with wide, frightened eyes. As he spoke she nodded, "Yeah, maybe" she replied, smiling shakily, "Thank you. Thank you so much, I guess I could use a little more practice" . She was truly grateful that he had saved her, after all, it was rare that someone showed concern for her well being.
As they descended, Alex realized what had scared her most about the situation. It wasn't that she had fallen, it was that she had lost her ability to think. As if it wasn;t bad enough that she couldn't make her wings reform in time, Alex could at least have willed a parahute to materialize on her back,or something. But when plan A had failed, she had done a very un-Alex-Like thing. She had panicked, and it had almost cost her her life.
As they made contact with the grass of the field, Alex let out a sigh of relief. She looked up at the siren, and realized that she still hadn't caught his name. "I don't believe I caught your name," she said, smiling at him, "and I'm sorry about copying your wings. You just looked like you were enjoying flying so much, and I wanted to try it for myself. I will be more careful next time, though. I just lost my focus..." she trailed off, feeling like a chatterbox. Since when had she ever been this talkative anyway?

Ash smiled and said It's no problem. I'm Ash Refern. She looked and sounded like a freaked out person that had almost fallen to their death. He wondered why sarcastically. He nodded when she started babbling and answered he in a nice voice I understand. Flying is the most amazing thing out there in my mind. Next time you decide to try and fly let me teach you the basics of flight, it'll be safer that learning on your own. He touched down on the ground and looked at her before asking Are you good to stand are your own? He didn't want to put her down only to have her fall again.

Caitlyn approached the pair, clapping sarcastically slow. "Well, well. What do we have here? A mock little bird and a golden boy who saves her life?" She said this in a sugar-sweet voice, an artificial smile spreading across her face. The only reason she had bothered to confront them was because she was angry that the male had rescued her from her death—and besides, he wasn't that bad looking either. She'd enjoy his attention, positive or negative. The girl looked frightened half to death (excuse the pun). As Cait drew closer, she could see that she wouldn't stop running her mouth to the real Siren. In response, he offered to teach her how to actually fly. "Going up in the sky again, are we?" she directed towards the girl, still sounding honey sweet. "Don't fall this time." She crossed her arms, standing only a foot away from her. She ignored Ash's presence, intently gazing at Alex. An inch taller, she could've been intimidating, but it wasn't her height that cast her imposing look. It was probably the cold, empty gaze that she used to stare her down with.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex's smile turned to a scowl as she saw a girl approaching them. Suddenly her mind was clear, no trace of fear in it, just anger. As if the strangers appearance itself didn't irritate her enough, the girl was tuanting her. She was wearing hardly anything in Alex's opinion, as if she was trying to attract the most low class pigs on campus. Alex absolutely could not stand girls like that, and the cold, cruel look of contempt in her eyes as she applauded mockingly made Alex want to puch her square in that pretty nose.
Alex did not shrink an inch under the girls empty gaze, instead the met the girls icy eyes, menace mingled with contempt reflecting in her own. What gave this girl the right to criticize her anyway? At least she had the ability and courage to fly. "And who, exactly do you think you are?" she asked, mockingly, coloring her tone with contempt. Alex squared her shoulders and looked this girl up and down critically. "And don't you have a strip club to get to?" she added, smirking.
Alex could tell that the girl underestimated her gift. As a changer, she found that there were many ways to make herself dangerous, but still, other supernaturals seemed to forget that. She wondered what this girls gift was. She wasn't scared of her either way, but still, it would be nice to know what she was dealing with. She looked at the girl again, and chuckled almost as if she felt sorry for her. It was sad that a girl had to dress that way to feel beautiful anyway.

Caitlyn’s false grin grew to a genuine one when she saw the look of irritation on her victim’s face, knowing that she was successful in her attempt to anger her. She reveled in her accomplishment for a short while, before returning her focus to her current target. It wasn’t every day she got to get a rise out of someone so responsive. It was easiest to bully the small, shy girls, but they weren’t much fun at all. They didn’t even bother to stand up for themselves, quite the contrary with the one standing in front of her.
When the other girl didn’t even back down in the slightest, she found it somewhat cute. The Changer was countering her spite with hatred of her own, which wasn’t new to Caitlyn, but rather refreshing. It’d been a while since she’d gotten an actually courageous girl like this one who fought back. “Who do I think I am? Why, I know I am Caitlyn Levy. I also know that you have a death wish.” She wasn’t fazed under her scrutiny, for she was completely used to it. She returned Alex’s smirk with a smirk of her own after she’d made the strip club comment. Closing the distance between them, she placed one icy finger under the girl’s chin, drawing a thin trail of ice (that melted almost immediately) down her neck. “Why do you ask? Going to come watch?” she leered. Of course Caitlyn was straight, but it was hilarious to watch faces burn scarlet when she’d indicated interest in girls.
When Alex chuckled, Caitlyn cocked her head to the side in curiosity. She didn’t lose her look of disdain, but rather just accompanied it. Catching her glance back once before she laughed, she realized that the girl was probably thinking of the way she dressed. She often got mixed opinions on her choices of clothing, yes, but it didn’t matter what women thought anyway—it was only for the boys. “Jealous, are we?” She winked after she finished the trio of words, removing her hand from contact with the Changer’s skin.

Alex Winters Changer I For One Can See No Blood From The Hearts And The Wrists You Allegedly Slit... . . . Alex wasn't the least bit phased by the girls actions. She had always been headstrong, and she had already decided not to late Caitlyn get to her in any way shape or form. She thought through all the mean and viscious things that she would like to do to this stupid girl, but only to get it out of her system. She was in a good mood today, and she was not about to let it be ruined by some cocky ice elemental. Why was she even waisting her time with her today?
"Jealous, are we?" The girl asked, and Alex grinned tauntingly, "Oh yes," she said her voice dripping with sarcasm, "I have every reason in the world to be. Its not like i could possibly ever look as beautiful as you." She finished her remark with a smirk, and shifted herself into a mock version of Caitlyn, copying the empty look in her eyes, and even her ridiculous outfit, and then she let herself slip back into her original form. Alex considered that a suficient last remark, not wanting to continue to feed the girls hunger for attention, and turned her back on Caitlyn.
"I will see you around Ash," she added, flashing him a smile, and thenturned away from the hopefully annoyed girl and began to walk away, back towards her dorm.
