Ted noticed that she looked a little stuck. At first he thought that it was funny but after a couple of seconds he was perhaps a little worried. His raccoon minded are you formulated a few different ways of trajectory get off the tree.
Finally she figured out a way to get off the tree. It's definitely unique, not something he was expecting. Ted sat on the tree in awe of what she did. He wasn't expecting her to change from cat to bird so quickly. In fact, he didn't even know you could do that he had always gone from animal back to human then back to animal.
He watched her, unsure what she was going to do. Maybe she was going to fly off and make him chase her; although she was it, so that wouldn't have made any sense. He did notice that she didn't look all that graceful while flying. Maybe she'd only used the animal to get out of tight spots like this one and didn't really use it for much more than that.
It was a little unfair because he didn't have any bird shapes that he could use. Sure birds were everywhere, but they were never close enough for him to tell what kind of bird it was. "Not cool." he said before he was attacked by the blue jay.
After the first attack he scurried down the tree. If she wasn't that good of a flier then maybe he could still catch her even though she was flying.

I can finally seeThat you're right there beside me☆☆I am not my ownFor I have been made new☆
Heather laughed, flying closer and closer to the ground, shifting as soon as she got about five inches from the ground to the ground and turning back into a cat, rolling until she could stop herself and stand once more, slightly dazed. Her eyes were still bright and playful still as she crouched on the ground, getting ready to spring off again, "I'm nothing if not fair." she meowed and bursted off again, her hind legs springing her forward even faster down down the hillside.
She must have landed on her right back leg awkwardly because she felt a small pinch of pain. She pushed through it though and kept on speeding towards the pond. The wind now through her fur was blissful and relaxing. She closed her eyes and the feeling was almost the same and the exhilarating feeling of flight.
It wasn't until she opened her eyes Heather noticed she was getting much to close towards the pond. She let out a loud squeak and tried to stop herself but she tripped and nearly fell into the crystal clear, chilly depths. She yelped and clawed at the ground, her tail dangling from the edge. She pulled herself up and shook herself off, her pelt slightly dusty with dirt. "Woah, that was close! she said to herself, looking into the cold waters with wide eyes.

"I thought cats always landed on their feet." Ted said as he watched the bird turn back into a cat. The rolling for a bit was a little funny to watch. His raccoon laughter sounded a lot like one that was jabbering loudly. He watched as she sprinted off towards the direction of the pond. Ted quickly pursued after her. She seemed like she was having a little bit more trouble running, but maybe that was because of the way she landed. He was gaining on her very quickly and didn't see any reason to slow down, mainly because she didn't seem to slow down.
Since it continued to grow darker by the minute his raccoon form was doing him a lot of good. His vision was growing keener as the darkness grew. He could see her better as she was ran away from him. She knows where she's going so it's not like she's going to run into the water. Is she? He thought as he chased her. Unfortunately she didn't have any break lights on when she stopped and decided to not tell him that she was headed straight to the pond. Teds unfamiliarity with his body turned against him. He wasn't able to stop him as fast as she was able to stop.
Ted dug his paws and claws into the ground. He was slowing down but the steady slope to the pond was proving difficult for him to stop. "Incoming!!!" Ted yelled as he hurtled straight for her. The water was down right cold at this time and he seemed positive that he was about to send his new found friend for a late evening swim.

Heather didn't hear him until it was too late. She spun around and with a loud squeak of surprise she fell right into the chilly, clear water with a great splash for an animal of her size.
The cold water hit her like a title wave, her soft but thick pelt dragging her down. Her first thought was to transform into a seal like she had done a few times before but her concentration was more on making her, well, how to put this... not drown. She flailed her paws until her head broke the surface and she took a large gulp of air. Her fur was soaked to the bone and like a weight. She grabbed on to the edge, and hauled herself out of the water, her pelt soaked and if it wasn't clinging to the sides of her body it was sticking every-which-way. Her eyes were wide with surprise still and her once large and fluffy tail was not wet, dripping, and mouse-like. She supposed she looked ridiculous.
Now, even as a human, Heather wasn't one for water on the best of days. Her feline lifestyle left her... rather... hydrophobic to say. She knew how to swim, yes, but did she like it? No. Did she care to swim in animal form? No. Did she want to be unwillingly pushed into freezing waters? Definitely not. Not to say that Heather was angry about the situation, but she couldn't say she preferred this outcome-though she'd never blame someone like Ted for accidentally pushing her in. That was probably Heather's greatest strength and weakness. She almost never blamed anyone for anything, except herself. If she had the slightest ability to prevent the problem, it was her fault-no questions asked. It was great for other people, but not for her self-esteem.
She shivered, thoroughly frozen. "Th...th...th...that's c...c...cold." she chattered, giving a sneeze. Great, she'd have a cold now for sure. She shook her pelt, water flying off in all directions and warming her pelt slightly. I mean, SLIGHTLY. She sneezed once more and sat down, rubbing her nose with her paw to warm it up a little. "U...h... If..f..f it's o...okay w...with y...you p...per...perhaps w...we c...can go in..n..nside n...now...?" she asked, her voice constantly uninterrupted with chattering teeth.

Ted was just about to go diving into the water after her when her drenched head popped above the surface. He watched as she made her way to the shore and out of the frigid water. The raccoon lowered his head in shame. He should have been able to stop himself in time. There was no reason that he shouldn't have been able to stop himself. He really didn't mean to give her hypothermia today. Let's face it. It's not the best way to treat a friend that he just met.
Ted didn't even flinch as she shook water all over him. The cold water splashed on his fur and he bowed his head looking very sad. He didn't mind going inside. He was nice and warm in his dry fur but she was obviously soaked and catching a cold. She really needed to get someplace warm. "Ya lets get you inside." He slowly started walking back to the school. Ted hoped that there would be a fire going somewhere that he could get her to warm up near. It was getting cold outside too so there was a good chance that there'd be a fire going somewhere.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." So far she didn't seem mad at him for accidentally knocking her into the pond but at the moment she may be to cold to really be upset with him. Ted walked next to her the entire time making sure that she was OK. Other than that there wasn't much that he could do.

Heather gave another, much more violent sneeze, "Y...y...ye...yeah. Th...th...th...th...e schooool is thee c...c...closest." she shivered, her jaw quivering. She didn't want to shift because she knew now her dress would be soaked and it'd be harder to walk up anyway. Besides she could already feel her fur drying and it'd act like a coat and help her become warm. She rubbed her nose once more, trying to warm herself once more.
They walked in silence for a while, Heather limping slightly. She noticed that the instant freezing temperature had really stiffed the injured muscles and her leg began to ache when she tried to put too much pressure on it. She wasn't complaining though, she silently followed him, her eyes now aching from the water and wind stinging them. She narrowed them to keep them from hurting and kept her head down.
He then apologized and she turned to him slightly alarmed, "Oh no! D...don't b...be sor...r...r...ry! It's my fault, I...I'mmm th...th...the one who f...f...fell in, s...s..s..sssilly." she said with a still shaky and shivery voice. She refused, simply refused to believe that Ted should feel sorry. It was not his fault. She gave a little, jittery laugh and nudged his shoulder with her own, "D...d...don't f...f..feel sad..d, T...ted." she insisted, she would feel bad herself if he blamed himself.
They walked to the top of the hill and approached the school where their dorms were located. By now she felt the tips of her fur stiffening and she realized it must be getting later and in turn, colder. Besides that the walk had warmed her and she had calmed her shivers so she spoke without pause, "Could you open the door? It's probably best not to walk in with a soaking wet dress.". She asked, her voice a small a bit raspy but audible to a raccoon.

Ted was a little surprised to hear her say that it wasn't his fault for knocking her in. He didn't really believe that. But maybe she really was that nice. It didn't really matter who was at fault, even though he still thought it was him, because he was alright and not drowned.
Once they got to the door she seemed to have warmed up enough to stop shivering. That was certainly a plus in his book. "Sure." Ted replied before quickly shifting back into his human form. He opened the door to allow the soaked Heather cat walk inside and find the nearest fire to curl up next to. It was definitely getting colder outside and e was actually glad that he wasn't staying out here much longer.
He did have to agree that he didn't think the schools headmaster would be all to thrilled to have a girl in a dress sopping all over the floor. At least with Heather in cat form thy could minimize the drenching of furniture. Since he hadn't spent much time there he really didn't know where anything was. The only thing he knew about was where he couldn't go and what Heather had pointed out. "After you. I don't even know where anything is in here either." Ted said to the cat. He supposed he might look ridiculous taking to a cat if this wasn't a place for supernatural people.

I can finally seeThat you're right there beside me☆☆I am not my ownFor I have been made new☆
Heather scooted in as soon as the door was wide enough for her. The warm air made such a difference. She felt a soft purr rumble her throat as her frozen paws warmed up and she could walk into the main foyer were a cracking fire was safely in the fireplace and rather comfortable furniture could be seen, warm and comfy. Heather had suspected that it had been left from when this place was an estate. She sat down beside the fireplace and lifted a paw, it was pale with cold. She laid down so her paws were stretched towards the fire so they could warm faster.
She let out a long purr than got back up after a few moments, Ted having spoken to her. She opened her mouth but remembered he couldn't understand her when she was in cat form. She spoke in meows now... She thought for a second then trotted towards the front desk they had previously passed. There was a single secretary there, turned and typing on her computer, and a guard sitting in a chair behind her, half asleep with a hat covering his eyes. She jumped onto the counter quietly and grabbed one of the papers lying in a neat stack. She pushed it off the counted and onto the floor, jumping down after it.
She put her paw on it, showing that it was one of the fordable maps of the school building. It showed the room layouts and numbers. She stepped back, leaving one, damp pawprint by accident. She twitched her ear, annoyed at herself for her carelessness. She pointed to the foyer, where they were currently, careful to not touch the paper this time. Then she moved her paw to the second floor and hovered her paw over room 101, where her room was. She glanced at him, seeing if he was understanding her.

Ted watched her warm up by the fire for a minute thoroughly amused that she could feel so comfortable doing that. Even though she was a human she seem so at ease in her cat form. Maybe that was what he looked like I'm his dog form. He isn't really know because he always enjoyed being in that form so much that he didn't care what he looked like.
Ted hen followed her back to the counter with the secretary and the sleeping guard. Apparently, they weren't too worried about people misbehaving here. Now this was certainly something he'd never done before... Play charades with a cat. He sort of understood what she was going for but it was still hard considering they couldn't really talk to each other like they could when they were both animals.
He waited until she was done pointing at things before he changed again. This time instead of he raccoon he was in his favorite form. Ted had turned into his chow. The change was quicker than it had been with the raccoon and he was feeling much more comfy in it than he was in the raccoon form.
She was pointing a different, kind of random, room out to him and once he was in his chow form. Is that her room? He thought before saying, "There that's better. What were you saying earlier?" his sandy bushy fun kept him plenty warm and comfy in the cooler foyer that was away from the fire. Ted moved his tail back and forth, the curl created a complete circle and his ears were erect and his face was almost completely covered by fur and it even looked like his face was squashed in by a frying pan.

I can finally seeThat you're right there beside me☆☆I am not my ownFor I have been made new☆
Heather jumped her eyes wide with surprise for a single second, then her gaze warmed and let a little purr-rurp of a giggle. "What I was saying was-This is my room, room 101." she said quickly, "I don't have a cellphone or anything-but I spend plenty of time in my room so if you need me you can knock anytime. The classrooms are on the third floor, if you want I can walk you through your schedule if you like, and down here is the cafeteria, offices, gym, rec-room, library and the ball room, where we have our dances." she paused, "You following me?"
She gently pushed the paper towards him and sat down, her tail wrapping around her paws. The fur around her face was dry now, but the thicker fur around her neck was still spiky with water. She itched it with her back paw, but awkwardly because she wasn't exactly... practised in that art. Sure, she was used to purring and wordlessly meowing and running, but itching herself with her foot? That didn't come too often.
Judging by how fast Ted had shifted, she guessed that he was used to his chow form like she was used to her cat form. She wondered why he hadn't chosen that instead of the raccoon, but remembered that the raccoon was much more similar to the size of a cat then a chow. Perhaps that was why.
