There I was again tonight
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place
Walls of insincerity
Shifting eyes and vacancy
All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place
Walls of insincerity
Shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw your face
Beth entered the coffee house with Dallas. The door giving a happy briingg it rang. The restaurant was quite homey with a fake fireplace in one wall with comfy looking arm chairs and other almost as comfy looking dining chairs by the window. It was very warm with the rich smell of coffee and baked goods that made the whole set up pretty homey.
She gazed up thoughtfully at the black chalkboard with neon colors listing the prices and specials. She had heard of their muffins were fantastic before, maybe one of those might be suitable, and a regular coffee. She stuffed a hand in her back pocket, pulling out a handful of change. She counted quickly and ended up having two dollars and thirty four cents. She checked how much a coffee was... a dollar seventy and a muffin was... ninety nine cents. It didn't take a genius to figure out she didn't have enough money.
Beth was an orphan, a poor, forgotten, unwanted orphan, and the orphanage didn't exactly have high allowances. She only had the money she made from her paintings, and that didn't exactly leave her wealthy either. She gave a little sigh, looking at her open palm with the worn change with a hint of disappointment. "I'm just gonna have a coffee. Nothing fancy." she said, masking her emotions pretty well with her voice, though Beth doubted that any telepath would miss the frustration towards her wallet without much self-control.
All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you
