The grasses around the lake were free of people, much to Riven's liking. Around other people, she was bound to do something bad if she tried to attempt what she was doing. Alone, there was no danger to anyone but herself. She could safely, once again, try to assemble her the shards of her broken stained glass window together, though whether she would succeed was the question. Within her looped arms was a large cardboard box, making light plinking sounds whenever it was rustled too much. Riven set it down, carefully pulling back the lid to reveal an assortment of glass shards in all colors of the rainbow. She didn't reach her hand into the box, instead backing away slightly from it, taking a seat on the ground. With her legs crossed, she took a quick breath, followed by a deeper, slower one.
Riven removed the leather gloves that clung to both of her hands, peeling them off onto the ground. She didn't wear them for any specific reason, but she liked to think it proved that she had some willpower. It could grow quite uncomfortable with the skintight gloves on. With one final inhale, she pressed the index and middle finger on each hand to the temples on her head, trying her hardest to focus. Though there was some room for mistakes here, she didn't want to further break the pieces of the window.
She knew when the glass started to lift, though it was still concealed by the wall of the box. Riven could feel some sort of release in her mind, like suddenly letting out a breath you've been holding for a while. It felt good. Removing her hands from her head, she watched as the shapes began to rise. The sunlight refracted through each individual one, causing near blindness to Riven as she watched in awe. It'd been a while since she'd done this. With nearly miniscule movements of her arms, the shards responding, jerking and floating to where she'd intended for them to be. Working with glass was another reason that being alone was best—terrible events could unfold if you were to break focus.
